We provide solutions to a range of skin conditions that appear on the face with effective treatments.
Bruxism (excessive grinding of teeth) and associated migraines
People can often grind or clench their teeth due to stress, anxiety or during their sleep. However, regular grinding of the teeth is a medical condition which may cause some oral complications and even weaken or damage the teeth. Bruxism may cause jaw pain, sore gums, light headaches and even extreme sensitivity when you bite or chew. Excessive grinding of teeth can also wear away the teeth that would require special dental Intervention. It can also lead to enlargement of the masseter muscle and a squarer face shape.
When clenching or grinding the teeth the masseter muscles of the jaw contract, during bruxism there is hyperactivity of the muscle and it becomes enlarged overtime and more bulky. Anti-wrinkle injections can be administered to hinder the nerve signals from reaching the muscles. This eventually causes the muscles to relax and so inhibiting bruxism and thereby improving any associated migraines. In addition, because activity of the muscle is weakened it becomes smaller and less bulky thereby reducing the lower face width and giving a more desirable oval face shape.
We take time to examine the specific conditions and Dr Sall will offer her professional medical advice tailored to your specific needs.
Enlarged Pores
People with oily skin are the most prone to suffer from enlarged pores and it usually occurs when the skin pores are blocked by the deposition of the oil over time. This condition is common to all types of skin and affects both the young and old. As the oil continues to accumulate, the collagen and elastin which support the pores loses its firmness. Enlarged pores can also result from sun damage as the collagen production rate drops significantly the longer the skin is exposed to sunlight. With the use of quality products that are suitable for all skin types our skin treatment can effectively take care of this skin condition.
Acne Scars
An acne scar is a product of what is left behind when acne heals. Sometimes it stays in the form of inflammation or indentation and if not treated properly, could lead to the outbreak of new acne. These scares are a result of damaged tissues beneath the acne. We offer professional acne scar treatments to improve the skin texture and appearance, regardless of the cause of the acne.
Dark circles
Dark circles, sunken eyes, tired looking eyes, eye bags: can be due to stress/fatigue, insomnia, hormonal changes and even dehydration. They can also be hereditary and are common conditions among elderly males and females. A deep depression running from the nose and around the under eye can become more noticeable with age as the skin becomes thin and the fat pad more noticeable. While the treatment for these conditions depends on the cause, we have effective medically approved solutions to remedy the condition.
